Established Insurance Building company based in Queensland, NSW and Victoria, specializing in insurance repairs. Managing domestic and commercial related repairs throughout all regions. 

About the Role: My client is seeking a Safety Advisor to join the team. The Safety Officer will be assisting the National Safety Manager in ensuring compliance to HS&E. The successful candidate will be managing a variety of tasks including:
  • Ensuring all appropriate actions are taken to implement the HS&E procedures and legislative requirements
  • Monitoring HS&E performance within area of responsibility
  • Demonstrating commitment to HS&E through leadership and participation in HS&E initiatives
  • Ensuring all staff and contractors are appropriately trained to meet HS&E standards and procedures
  • Co-ordinating and administering corporate HS&E policies, guidelines and procedures across the Project(s)
  • Acting as an internal coach and advisor to the Project team and subcontractor employees deliver HS&E training so that all staff, consultants and sub-contractors are of their HS&E obligations
  • Report, investigate and follow-up all serious incidents and recommending remedial action
  • Ensuring accurate and up to date documentation and information relating to HS&E issues and training is collected, reported, disseminated and stored in project files.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum requirements and desirable attributes:
  • Certificate IV or higher in WHS
  • Risk assessment analysis
  • Experience in the insurance building industry
  • Diploma in Quality management would be highly desirable
  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Must be prepared to travel where necessary
  • A current unrestricted Drivers Licence
  • The ability to work on an 'on call' basis
  • Excellent 'people' skills
  • Must be able to problem solve, be a analytical an strategic thinker and be a great communicator
  • A professional appearance and good phone manner
  • Competent PC skills including Excel, Word and Email
  • The ability to produce written reports
  • A 'can do' energetic attitude and action-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A strong work ethic and to be able think ahead
  • A team focus and thrive in a team environment
