Quantity Surveyor - Perth

About the Client
My client is a highly regarded Formwork & Concrete Business operating successfully in Perth for the last 25 years, with firm relationships across the Tier 1 and Tier 2 space, having played a crucial part in delivering some of Perth's largest projects over the last decade.

The Role
Due to strong financial performance and a recent growth strategy outlined.  My client is now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who will grow with the business and help lead junior commercial teams.  Day to day, you will work across major projects, dealing with variations, progress claims, and driving commercial outcomes for the project and wider business.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including material, production, and equipment costs, while considering all aspects of the project scope and specifications.
  • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and value for money.
  • Manage project budgets, track costs, and prepare regular financial reports, providing analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with project teams to review and monitor progress against budget, identifying potential risks and implementing cost-control measures.
  • Conduct regular site visits to measure and value work done, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
  • Prepare and submit claims for variations, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, and contract specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address project-related queries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance cost management strategies.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction & civil industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Professional accreditation, such as RICS, AIQS, or similar, is highly desirable.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
