Graduate Contract Administrator / Quantity Surveyor - Perth
About the Client My client is a highly regarded Structures Contractor operating successfully in Perth for the last 20yrs with firm relationships across the Tier 1 and Tier 2 space, having played a crucial part in delivering some of Perth's largest projects over the last decade. They have grown steadily and due to recent project awards, they are growing the commercial team.
The Role Due to strong financial performance and a recent growth strategy outlined, combined with a healthy order book, my client is now looking for a Graduate Contract Administrator / Quantity Surveyor who will grow with the business. Day to day, you will work across major projects, managing on-site teams, driving the scope of works, and helping lead the commercial function of the business.
Responsibilities: - Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including material, production, and equipment costs, while considering all aspects of the project scope and specifications.
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and value for money.
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and prepare regular financial reports, providing analysis and recommendations to management.
- Collaborate with project teams to review and monitor progress against budget, identifying potential risks and implementing cost-control measures.
- Conduct regular site visits to measure and value work done, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
- Prepare and submit claims for variations, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, and contract specifications.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address project-related queries and resolve issues promptly.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance cost management strategies.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction industry.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software, such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
