Head contractor for $300M development

THE 60 Martin Place project in Sydney now has a head contractor, concluding a tender process which started in September last year.

Lendlease Building will get started on the 33-storey structure next month, which aims to hold a 6 Star Green Star sustainability rating along with Five Star NABERS energy and Four Star NABERS water ratings. A total of 40,000 square metres of internal space will be available for letting, including some areas with views of Sydney’s Opera House, Royal Botanic Garden and the surrounding harbours.

Project owners Investa and Gwynvill Group said Lendlease Building was chosen based on a number of key criteria. These included the company’s recent comparable experience in commercial office projects, the company’s relevant experience, competitive commercial terms and Lendlease Building’s delivery track record.


Investa head of commercial development Mark Tait said the project already had “significant” tenant interest from an unspecified range of “blue chip organisations”.

Overall completion is expected in the third quarter of 2019.
